"I Can't Help Falling In Love With You"...Eddy!

On my rainy ride home this afternoon, I hopped off the 30 (which takes me from CSUS to downtown Sac) and as soon as I stepped outside I heard someone singing. My usual instinct to someone being loud is to keep a bit of distance...but then as I actually listened I realized the singing was quite good!! So, I walked closer and sat on the bench just down from a little old man with headphones on. He was singing beautifully along with his TAPE player...cute! I was so impressed and couldn't believe it, so I mustered up the courage to go ask him if I could record him! I wanted to be able to share it on here so much, so I walked over and asked him. I told him that I wrote a little blog and he was just too sweet!

He said, "of course!" He had to rewind his tape to get ready for the video, prepare to be wooed like I was...

Everyone, meet Eddy!

The lady sitting next to him was moved to tears and said that her mother used to play that record when she was little and his beautiful voice reminded her of her mom. Aw!

He then went on to sing: "Love Me Tender", "Teddy Bear", "Heartbreak Hotel" (he got a little fiesty on that one!!), and some other oldies. He told me he sings in the mall sometimes, but never wants money. I told him he should put out a hat or something, he could rake in the dough! His favorite music is rock and roll, and I asked him about some of his other favorite artists. Elvis is his top choice, but he also said he likes Jerry Lee Lewis and Engelbert Humperdinck. Singing is his favorite hobby :)
